Biography

KatherineThe first thing I should probably tell you is, that photo isn't really me. I'm actually 5'8" tall, weight 125 lbs, have blonde hair, blue eyes, and I'm 25 years old. Picture a Nordic Goddess.

Okay, okay. So I lied. What do you expect from a fiction writer? The truth is, I've been married for 40 years, and before you ask, yes, to the same man. And in case you're just plain nosey, we got married when I was two. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Hubby and I live in a small town in Arkansas, population approximately 1200. Yeehaw! We have a daughter and twin sons, and four fantastic grandchildren, none of whom are currently living with us, thank-you-God.

I've always been fanatical about reading, but it took me a few years to realize that writing was just as much fun. I got started in a fanfic club and wrote for them about eight years. At that point, hubby sat me down and very logically asked why I was writing for a club when I could be writing novels. A light bulb went on. Maybe he had something there.

READY OR NOT, the first novel I wrote, sold to Kensington right away. My paranormal, DERRIAN'S SHIELD, won second place in the Melody of Love contest which is sponsored by the Nashville chapter of the RWA. My first single title, THE SWEET GUM TREE, a southern novel set in the Crowley Ridge area of Arkansas, won first place in the 2002 PASIC Book of Your Heart contest and won the 2006 EPPIE. It was also named best book of 2005 by Romance Reviews Today. To date, I've completed seven manuscripts and I'm working on number eight, my first futuristic romance.

A few years ago, hubby and I acquired two new family members of the furry variety. For a peek at our babies, click here.

Ya'll come back!
